CenterPoint Properties has named Ronel Borner to lead its East Region Asset Management team.

CenterPoint’s EVP and Head of the East Region, PJ Charlton, credits Borner for playing a vital role in expanding the firm’s East Region footprint in strategic markets, from New York and New Jersey to Savannah and South Florida.

“Ronel’s dedication and vision, along with his development and leasing experience, analytical strengths, and contributions to our portfolio management decisions have been instrumental in our regional success,” said Charlton. “He has proven himself as a talented leader, which will serve us well as we continue to grow our team, provide a high level of customer service, and maximize value through operating our $5 billion East Region portfolio,” he added.

Borner joined CenterPoint Properties as East Region Senior Vice President of Development in October 2019. Under his leadership, CenterPoint developed nearly 2 million square feet of Class A warehouse space across 11 projects in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, South Carolina, and South Florida. Among these were a two-building development at Port Everglades, FL; five separate facilities in the Savannah, GA, market; two new Class A infill facilities in the Northern New Jersey market; and a state-of-the-art, two-story build-to-suit facility adjacent to JFK Airport in New York.

Additionally, in Savannah, CenterPoint has a 404,000-square-foot build-to-suit development under construction that will complete a three-building park two miles from the Port, along with a pad-ready build-to-suit development site that can accommodate two facilities totaling more than 800,000 square feet. In New Jersey, CenterPoint also has a 208,000-square-foot Class A development site near Port Newark/Elizabeth, which leaders expect to begin construction on in 2027.

“I’m grateful to PJ and the rest of CenterPoint’s leadership for their trust in me. We have a tremendous team of customer service-oriented property managers and leasing professionals, and I look forward to working with them to put our 23-million-square-foot regional portfolio to work for our current customers and new partners alike,” Borner said.

Before joining CenterPoint, Borner served as Director of Real Estate Development at The Rockefeller Group and Principal at Acquis Development Corporation.

He earned his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University.

Borner is a member of the CREDA New Jersey Chapter and the CREDA National Forums Program.
