“Jim has been a fixture at CenterPoint for 25 years and has been particularly instrumental in our growth and regional expansion,” said Bob Chapman, CenterPoint’s Chief Executive Officer. “He will collaborate closely with me, our ownership, and the Board of Directors to help drive our strategic objectives while also assuming new responsibilities for coordinating such objectives with our various business units,” Chapman finished.

After working as a broker at CBRE for 11 years, Clewlow joined CenterPoint in 1997 as a Vice President of Acquisitions, Development, and Leasing. In 1999, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Investments and joined the Executive Committee. Clewlow was appointed CenterPoint’s Chief Investment Officer in 2005.
Chapman also announced the company’s Senior Vice President of Investments in the East Region, PJ Charlton, has been promoted to Clewlow’s former post as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. Chapman called Charlton “a proven leader” and said he will continue at the helm of CenterPoint’s East Region Investments Team in the near term.
“We are confident PJ’s strategic thinking and vision will continue to take CenterPoint’s Investment Team to new levels of success,” said Chapman.
“I’m grateful for the trust of Bob and the rest of the CenterPoint leadership team,” said Charlton. “It’s been thrilling to help the company expand into markets such as New York City and South Florida in recent years. I’m excited to work with our team to continue Jim Clewlow’s legacy of building a top-flight portfolio in America’s top industrial markets.”
Charlton joined CenterPoint as Senior Vice President of Investments in 2015 to oversee the company’s East Region portfolio growth. Before joining CenterPoint, he served as Principal and Senior Vice President of Investments for KTR Capital Partners.
