The Kansas City Star reported on a proposed plan for the U.S. General Services Administration and National Nuclear Security Administration to transfer the local Bannister Federal Complex to CenterPoint Properties. With federal government approval, CenterPoint would demolish the 5.1 Million SF property in 2016, then remediate and ultimately redevelop the site.

As Jim Cross, Senior Vice President, Government Services, Development of CenterPoint noted in the article, “The building has been invaluable to our country, city and state…Now we need to repurpose it to bring back viable jobs to the community.”
