CenterPoint Properties broke ground on the Port Everglades International Logistics Center, a two-building, 296,207-square-foot industrial facility at Port Everglades in Hollywood, Florida. The buildings will sit on 16.5 acres of land at 3413 and 3423 McIntosh Road.
CenterPoint retained Avison Young to spearhead the project management and development of the logistics center.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Avison Young on our first ground-up development in Florida,” said Brian Hollings, CenterPoint Vice President of Development. “It’s a highly strategic location with access to the port and Intermodal Container Transfer Facility.”
Port Everglades International Logistics Center is designed to provide a modern, efficient and secure environment for cargo activity at one of Florida’s most active seaports. Its strategic location adjacent to terminal operations will be ideal for containers arriving at Port Everglades requiring U.S. Customs and U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection services. The center will also be the new home of the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 25 at Port Everglades, allowing FTZ tenants improved cash flow, avoidance of duties and lower tariff rates.
