OAK BROOK, IL – CenterPoint Properties announced today that Crothall Laundry Services’ built-to-suit facility within CenterPoint Intermodal Center-Manteca has officially achieved LEED Certification, a prestigious designation demonstrating the building’s adherence to sustainable, environmentally-conscious practices.
“We’re thrilled to have completed our second LEED-certified project with CenterPoint,” said Crothall President Steve Carpenter. “Due to the energy and resource-intensive nature of our business, we’re increasingly sensitive to the environmental impact of our operations. The Manteca facility’s LEED achievement speaks to our ongoing commitment to sustainability in the markets we serve.”
The 60,150 SF built-to-suit for Crothall Laundry Services, the first building in CIC-Manteca, was completed in July 2014. A number of cutting-edge technologies implemented within the facility contributed to its LEED certification, including advanced systems that reduce water consumption by 70% during the wash process alone, saving Crothall 8.5 million gallons of water per year. The facility also relies on natural gas-fired hot water boilers and efficient heat exchangers throughout the laundering process.
