CenterPoint Properties Announces A 230,256SF Build-to-Suit Cross-Dock Facility For ProTrans Inc.

OAK BROOK, IL– CenterPoint Properties is pleased to announce a 230,256 SF build-to-suit distribution facility for ProTrans International, Inc. (ProTrans), at the GSP International Logistics Park in Greer, South Carolina. The new facility will be located on approximately 20 acres with immediate access to the South Carolina Inland Port (SCIP), which is served by Norfolk Southern. The park offers supply chain efficiencies and capacity for future growth to ProTrans and companies leveraging the intermodal system.

ProTrans is a North American third-party logistics provider with 24 locations nationally, servicing customers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The new Greer facility is conveniently located next to BMW’s recently expanded 6.5 million SF manufacturing campus, the second largest production facility in the world.

“We are delighted to partner with ProTrans and expand our portfolio of East coast properties,” said Tony Beck, Senior Vice President, Development at CenterPoint Properties. “This development continues our momentum in the park, with recent expansion of BMW and this new facility.  We are hopeful this new location will be a catalyst for new business and an expansion on ProTrans’ existing customer base in this market.”

“ProTrans is proud to partner with CenterPoint Properties in the Greer market. While we’ve had a presence for years in Greer, our new facility will bring significant efficiencies to support our growing customer base and service offerings. ProTrans is cementing our roots in the area for years to come,” said Shawn Masters, Chief Commercial Officer at ProTrans.

The Class-A, 230,256 SF building will include a 6,600 SF standard office, a 2,900 SF warehouse office located in the center of the building and a driver check-in. Upon completion, the cross-dock facility will be 853 feet long by 270 feet deep with 60-foot speed bays, 88 dock doors, two drive-in doors all to support high-velocity operations.  The 20 acres site will accommodate 137 trailer positions and 80 auto parking for customers and employees. The partnership between ProTrans and CenterPoint will result in one of the premier cross-dock facilities in the Upstate of South Carolina.

ProTrans was represented by a partnership between CBRE’s Trey Pennington and Signature Associates’ Brad Viergever.
