OAK BROOK, IL – CenterPoint Properties is the proud recipient of the Developer of the Year and Industrial Build-to-Suit Development of the Year Awards from NAIOP Chicago. CenterPoint is a second-time recipient of the Developer of the year Award with the first being in 2011.

“We are extremely honored to receive two awards at this year’s NAIOP Chicago Awards for Excellence,” said Bob Chapman, Chief Executive Officer at CenterPoint. “Our membership with NAIOP is very valuable to us as it is a leading organization for education in industrial real estate. We are excited and appreciative that those within the association have awarded our diligence as a developer.”

NAIOP’s Annual Awards for Excellence recognize the industry’s best of the best in transaction and development categories.

The Developer of the Year Award goes to one developer that best exemplifies leadership and innovation in the industrial real estate market each year. CenterPoint’s large build-to-suit and speculative developments currently underway at CenterPoint Intermodal Center-Joliet (CIC-Joliet) have earned the Company the 2016 honor.

CenterPoint received the award for Industrial Build-to-Suit Development of the Year with its 1.4 Million SF dedicated food grade distribution facility project within CIC-Joliet. The build-to-suit property features 38’ clear height, ample car and trailer parking, 8-inch floor slab, LED lighting and temp-controlled space. The expected LEED Gold-certified building also has the potential to be redeveloped into a traditional cross-dock facility.

Previously, CenterPoint received the award for Industrial Speculative Development of the Year Award in 2015 for its ULINE/ALLIANCE facility in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

The awards were announced at the 29th Annual NAIOP Chicago Awards for Excellence, which took place at the Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois. For more details on the awards and a full list of winners, click here.
